Somethin' Got a Hold On Me  (arrangement by Tony Backhouse)
Somethin' got a hold on me (yeah)
Somethin' got a hold on me (yeah/a hold on me)
I went to a meetin' last night,
My heart just wasn't right
Somethin' got a hold on me

Lovin' got a hold...
Denmark got a hold...
Singin' got a hold...
Somethin' got a hold...

Sacred Place

Written by Bernard Carney in 1998 and inspired by the purchase of a dairy farm as a permanent site for the Woodford Folk Festival, where there is a continuing programme of re-planting of trees and indigenous plants, and nurturing the land to allow the festival to co-exist with the natural terrain.
This song was first performed at Woodford in 1998/99 at the opening ceremony.

Chorus:

Make a stand hand in hand
For the future of this land
We won't see it laid to waste
Please preserve our sacred place

Bark and branch leaf and tree
All of nature's mystery
Young and old of every race
Please preserve our sacred place

Verse 1:

Unbelievable unachievable
Talking money talking trees
Chip them all away just to make it pay
We won't replace the likes of these

Verse 2:

So believable so achievable
Now many cultures make us strong
Celebrate the earth appreciate her worth
In our stories and our songs
